Unusual Rigging & Engineering LLC supports Riyadh Season 2023 Opening Ceremony at Kingdom Arena

When Riyadh Season 2023 kicked off on Saturday October 28 with multiple undercard fights before the highly anticipated Tyson Fury v Francis Ngannou match-up, Unusual Rigging and Engineering LLC was on hand to supply the equipment necessary for the event’s vast rigging requirements.
 
The brand-new Kingdom Arena was lit up red, green and purple for the massive opening ceremony, which also featured performances by Becky G and Kanye West. This multi-purpose arena designed for concerts, sports events, and more was constructed in just 60 days and can accommodate over 40,000 people!
 
URE was asked to supply an array of kit including truss, steel wire rope hoists and Movecat for the opening ceremony.
 
Denis Bramhall, managing director URE said: “The event was being managed by Done & Dusted, with the rigging infrastructure handled by Northampton based Unusual Rigging. There were already seven shipping containers on their way to Riyadh from the UK. But the project itself was so incredibly vast, that we were asked to supplement that with stock from our warehouse too.”
 
URE’s warehouse is an Aladdin’s cave, well stocked with everything from truss, variable speed winches and chain hoists, to control and other rigging equipment.
 
Denis concluded: “We are proud to have the largest stock of rental stock for the entertainment industry in the region and while we are known for our sale of equipment, the rental market is a fundamental part of our business too. We are only too pleased to be able to supplement other organisations with additional items that it simply wouldn’t make sense for them to carry as part of their existing stock.”
